John was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on 25 March 1947. He started playing the piano at the age of 3. At the age of 15, He became a weekend pianist at the nearby Northwood Hills pub, playing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. In 1964, John and his friends formed a band called Bluesology. By day, he ran errands for a music publishing company; he divided his nights between solo gigs at a London hotel bar and working with Bluesology. In the spring of 1970, he released his first self title album "Elton John" and "Your Song" made the U.S. Top Ten.
